“Must-do” should mean priority, not everything available. On a short stay, the best Livingstone itinerary includes the Falls, one river experience, one wildlife choice and one activity that matches your personality.

Must-do #1: Victoria Falls on foot

Start with the Falls themselves. The guided Zambian walk gives context to the viewpoints, rainforest environment and seasonal differences in water flow.

Must-do #2: one Zambezi experience

For most visitors, a sunset cruise is the easiest choice. It fits well after a morning tour and adds the river to the itinerary without taking a full day.

Must-do #3: wildlife

If you only have a few hours, Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park works well. If you can dedicate a full day, Chobe gives you a broader safari experience.

Then choose one experience that suits you

  • For views: helicopter or microlight.
  • For adventure: rafting, bungee, bridge swing or zipline.
  • For a seasonal highlight: Livingstone Island and Devil’s Pool.
  • For culture: Mukuni Village or Livingstone town.

A simple two-day plan

Day one: Victoria Falls in the morning, sunset cruise in the evening. Day two: choose either a major wildlife experience or a scenic/adventure activity.

A better three-day plan

With a third day, add the major experience you skipped. Three days also gives you more protection against weather or schedule changes.

Do not confuse “must-do” with “must-book everything.”

Livingstone is more enjoyable when each day has one main experience and enough space around it.
