If it is your first trip to Livingstone, the challenge is not finding activities—it is choosing what deserves your time. These five give you the strongest mix of Victoria Falls, wildlife, the Zambezi River and one memorable scenic or seasonal experience.

1. Start with Victoria Falls

The Zambian side of Victoria Falls should usually be first. A guided walk helps you understand the rainforest, viewpoints, Knife-Edge Bridge area and the seasonal changes in water flow.

2. Spend an evening on the Zambezi

A sunset cruise gives the trip a different rhythm. Above the Falls, the river is calm and wide, with changing light, birdlife and the chance of seeing hippos or other wildlife along the banks.

A sunset cruise balances a busy sightseeing day with a slower river experience.

3. Add one wildlife experience

For a shorter local safari, choose Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park with a game drive and guided rhino walk. If you have a full day, Chobe in Botswana gives you a larger safari with both vehicle and river wildlife viewing.

4. See the Falls from the air

A microlight or helicopter gives you the perspective that the ground cannot. Choose microlight for an open-air experience or helicopter for a more enclosed and group-friendly flight.

5. Choose Devil’s Pool when conditions allow

Livingstone Island and Devil’s Pool are seasonal, so treat them as a special opportunity rather than a guaranteed year-round activity.

If you only have two days:

Prioritise Victoria Falls, one wildlife or aerial experience, and a sunset cruise. Add Devil’s Pool only if it is operating and fits comfortably into the schedule.

Why these five?

Together they show Livingstone from five different angles: the waterfall, the river above it, wildlife, the aerial landscape and a seasonal adventure at the top of the Falls.
